Multi-Level Composite Deck Renovation
This approximately 930-square-foot multi-level deck renovation gave a heavily weathered outdoor space a complete refresh while preserving the existing layout and overall footprint. The original decking, railings, balusters and lattice had reached the end of their service life, with significant fading, checking, peeling finish and board deterioration throughout the structure.
The existing deck surface was fully removed and replaced with new low-maintenance composite decking, including hidden fasteners, angled board runs and a picture-frame perimeter designed to maintain the character of the original deck layout. Three separate stair sets were also re-decked to create a consistent finished appearance across every level.
New composite railing was installed around approximately 95 linear feet of perimeter, along with 25 wrapped posts, giving the deck a cleaner and more updated look. The base of the deck was finished with approximately 283 linear feet of new vinyl lattice skirting, including both straight and curved sections.
Once the existing decking was removed, additional framing work was completed where needed, along with protective joist tape across the deck framing. These behind-the-scenes improvements helped prepare the existing structure for its new finish while extending protection to the underlying framing.
